What is it about?
After studying their internal teams extensively, Google determined that the two characteristics generally shared by successful teams were specific people/soft skills. This article is about what Google found out and how you can use proven principles of change management to apply their findings to make your teams more successful.

Why is it important?
What Google discovered is important, but equally important is how to best go about establishing those specific people/soft skills in teams. Change management principles, which deal with team development and high performance, provide crucial insights into how to go about implementing these skills.
Perspectives
What I read in the New York Times about Google's Project Aristotle and their efforts to develop the perfect team intrigued me. Applying principles of scientific research and quantitative methods, Google had discovered basic principles that resonated with my experience and training in the field of change management and high-performance team development. Google’s answer to the question of what makes teams successful was both scientifically and intuitively sound, but it seemed like there was a better way to implement their findings. So, I wrote this article in the hope of making the impact of their significant work even greater.
