Many diabetic patients resist insulin due to psychological factors. Tools, like ITAS, that identify the underlying reasons are valuable clinically and for research. The study examined the prevalence of psychological insulin resistance in HK primary care and the validity of Chinese version of ITAS was examined

Why is it important?

Prevalence of psychological insulin resistance in HK population was high, at 44.9%. Chinese version of ITAS appeared an useful tool for identifying psychological insulin resistance. However, additional validation and translation is required.

Perspectives

It is important to have a validated tool to measure psychological insulin resistance in local Hong Kong population
