What is it about?

The objective of this essay is to understand, in the Phenomenology ofthe spirit, how the first dialectical movement that occurs in consciousness assoon it is recognized as self-consciousness. Hegel’s analysis in the first threechapters: sensible certainty, perception and strength and understanding, willbe addressed here, but only as antecedents of Self-consciousness, hence theanalysis that is devoted to them is not so exhaustive in its conceptual approachas the concept of self-consciousness, the core of this section.
