What is it about?

The obtained main equations allow for the given negative allowance by numerical calculations, with the help of the definition of the stress intensity factors, to predict the growth of cracks existing in the drawing die and to establish the admissible level of deficiency and the maximal values of operation loads providing a sufficient reliability margin.

Why is it important?

At the design stage, the optimal design problem solution on the definition of the negative allowance in junction of the drawing die and the reinforcing cylinder enables finding the optimal geometric parameters of the drawing die and the reinforcing cylinder, which ensures an increase in the carrying capacity. The obtained results are applicable in the case of a brittle fracture.
