What is it about?
The paper presents an aircraft integrated positioning system, composed of Inertial Navigation System (INS), Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN) and altimeter (ALT). Such a system can be an alternative to popular INS/GNSS systems. The paper presents its mathematical model, its algorithm of data processing (Kalman filter) and chosen simulation results.

Why is it important?
While INS/GNSS systems are popular and widely described in numerous papers, INS/TACAN/ALT systems are not widely represented in scientific literature. The author claims and proves that in many applications such a system may offer similar advantages as an integrated positioning systems composed of INS and GNSS receiver.
