Plant expression systems and arbovirus

What is it about?

Plant expression system have been used as biofactory, this is cheap, simplex and scalable system to obtain proteins with higher similarity in the post translation modification with mamalian proteins. Here we show the reasons that plant expression system could be the used to express the antigens to both fast diagnostic test and vaccine production of many illness as virus infections. Developing countries have been deeply affected with Zika and Chikungunya virus and plant -based expression platforms have been proposed as a biotechnological tool to address the vaccine development challenge.
