Why is it important?

Often, proponents and opponents make arguments about Open Access using selective numbers, figures, or data points; this paper is an attempt to collect much of this research about the impact of Open Access in one place for easy review by anyone trying to make a decision or an argument about Open.

Perspectives

This paper was part of a massive crowdsourcing of Open Access research from the OpenCon community and others. I was delighted to see the input from so many individuals - without whom this paper could have never existed - and the authoring team consists of those who put together the formal write-up and worked on the structure of the paper.
