Why is it important?
Key findings : Patients frequently initially seek care in private healthcare facilities. Delays in accessing proper MDR-TB treatment are common. Public healthcare facilities tend to have higher MDR-TB diagnosis detection rates. It is shown that there is a need to increase public awareness concerning the availability of the free diagnosis and treatment of TB that is offered by the government.
Perspectives
The study investigates factors that contribute to delays in accessing appropriate care. It analyzes the roles of various healthcare providers in the diagnosis and management of MDR-TB.
