What is it about?
How is bile acid homeostasis maintained.

Why is it important?
Maintaining bile acid homeostasis is important for protection the liver from cholestatic injury and inflammation.
Perspectives
Bile acid signaling regulates metabolic homeostasis and prevent metabolic disorders such as fatty liver diseases, obesity and insulin resistance. The underlying mechanism is complex and not completely understood. The liver to gut axis plays s key role in bile acid signaling. Targeting bile acid receptors has therapeutic potential for treating metabolic diseases.
