Why is it important?
Considering the experienced inconsistencies found with commercial research antibodies, this paper discusses the practical factors influencing the performance of antibodies, even when they have been properly validated.

This opinion paper aims to assist scientists in deciding how to shop around adequately among the overwhelming amount of antibodies against the same protein on the market.
