What is it about?

We propose an explanation for how certain viruses (like COVID19) can have profound effects on our health.

Why is it important?

It's a different way of thinking about how viruses kill cells. It doesn't require our body's defenses (the immune system) to react to the virus in order for us to become ill.

Perspectives

The proposed mechanism focuses on how efficiently these viruses replicate inside our cells, and what they do to them. By disrupting normal processes and functions that are necessary for them to survive, the viruses can kill the cells they infect, and release more virus, infect neighboring cells and kill those.
