What is it about?

The difference of microbiome between the soil where the utilization of phytate is high and low was compared. PCR-DGGE did not give any difference. Whole genome analysis (454 sequencing) is introduced for the soil microbiome. To make the functional shift between two soils, SEED subsystem was used.

Why is it important?

The utilization of phytate in the rhizosphere was supported by the activity of citrate synthase and alkaline phosphatase (which include phytase).

Perspectives

A research to certificate the robustness of soil function even by the difference microbiome.
