What is it about?

We report a challenging case of a patient who presented with massive hemoptysis and was found to have a left subclavian artery pseudo aneurysm. Treatment with a self-expanding thoracic stent-graft and a subclavian occluder was successful.

Why is it important?

This case is very uncommon and unique, both for the type of presenting symptoms and for the endovascular treatment we performed.

Perspectives

Acute lesions in the thoracic aorta and subclavian arteries might be very complex to repair. Endovascular interventions in patients with life-threatening acute subclavian lesions is an excellent alternative to open surgical repair.
