This article deals with the portrayal of male characters in the fiction of Saudi women. It spans a few decades of writing and shows how women have dramatically changed their views about men as a result of rapid socio-economic and political changes in Saudi Arabia. From foe to a friend, and much more in between, men have come a long way in Saudi women's fiction.
