Perspectives
I got interested in design through my sister, design writer Ellen Lupton. I had a chance to read the papers of James J. Gibson, the inventor of the term "affordance," at Cornell University. I continue to be interested in how affordances might illuminate a range of human contexts for acting. I also recommend the work of Caroline Levine on affordances.
