Intraoperative Methadone Reduces Pain and Opioid Consumption in Acute Postoperative Pain

What is it about?

This meta analysis showed that intraoperative methadone use lowers the incidence of pain until 72h postoperatively, leads to lower postoperative opioid consumption and better patient satisfaction over other opioids. The incidence of opioid-related side effects was not increased with methadone use
