What is it about?
The capacity to predict risk of rare and serious perioperative complications has been limited, due to factors including lack of large datasets necessary for diseases with rare outcomes, and inade-quate prediction methodology. In this study we developed a predictive model for ION associat-ed with spine fusion based on NIS data, focused upon the presence of preexisting co-morbidities, with internal validation that yields promise for reasonable risk stratification.
