What is it about?

Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a rare developmental defect of the diaphragm characterized by herniation of abdominal contents into the chest cavity. Despite advances in prenatal diagnosis, fetal interventions and post-natal management, mortality remains high and long-term morbidity is common among survivors. This is a comprehensive review of CDH for the anesthesiologist focussing on the complex pathophysiology and advances in management.
