Continuous quality improvement and epidural infusions in the operating room

What is it about?

Lean methodology has been increasingly utilized to improve efficiency and compliance with hospital protocols. We evaluate the effect of peri-operative process improvements, consisting of a pre-operative prompt within the anesthesia information management system (AIMS) as well as automated routine intraoperative message system, on compliance with starting epidural infusions and opioid administration patterns.
