What is it about?

General anesthesia is induced by a combination of sedative and analgesic medication. This study directly compared titration of opioid analgesics by three different techniques of analgesic monitoring and the traditional titration using clinical signs. The main result of this clinical trial is that with the three different types of analgesia monitoring or clinical titration patients received different amounts of analgesics for the same surgical procedure. This was also reflected by different stress hormone levels.
