Why is it important?

There are no enough osteoporosis specialists to see the patients who need the. This is a strategy for elevating the level of knowledge of healthcare professionals in underserved communities. It addresses the large osteoporosis treatment gap to assure that patients at high risk for fracture are appropriately evaluated and treated.

Perspectives

Osteoporosis is common disease with serious consequences due to fractures. It has been a great joy to participate in weekly collegial Bone Health TeleECHO videoconferences since its launch in October 2015. My hope is that more patients will receive the care they need to prevent fractures.
