What is it about?
There is some concern that glucose homeostasis is impaired in girls with Turner's syndrome treated with Growth Hormone (GH) . We evaluated HOMA , oral disposition and insulinogenic indexes in a large group of these girls and we showed that , during a long follow up ( 7 years), glucose homeostasis was not impaired by GH.

Why is it important?
We have evaluated both static and dynamic indexes of glucose homeostasis, during a long follow up. We could conclude that our results are reassuring about the risk of diabetes in TS girls treated with GH, and that a regular evaluation of glucose homeostasis by oral glucose tolerance test may be necessary only in selected cases
