What is it about?

The present work deals with the study of composite section columns composed by a concrete encased section under axial compression and biaxial bending moments within Eurocode 4 legal framework. A procedure about integrating stresses from the section discretization is described and permits its analysis the non-linear constitutive equations for concrete and steel. This procedure has been brought to fruition with a software installed in a structural analysis software, permiting the assessment of the columns bearing capacity taking into account not also the geometric non-linearity but also the mechanic one. The interaction diagrams for composite columns with different length has been obtained as an application, analyzing the loss of strength according to their slenderness and load conditions.
