What is it about?

The paper describes comparison of 3D development of velocity and attenuation elastic anisotropy during high pressure experiment.

Why is it important?

One could expect that distribution of P-wave velocity and P-wave amplitude is same, however as we can see they look quite differently. Although, the pressure development of both quantities follows the same feature (closing cracks) the anisotropy is different. What drives this behaviour needs to be investigated in more detail.
