What is it about?
The world MUST transition away from fossil fuels to renewables for energy generation and transportation in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The road is difficult though, and will require a LOT more mining - something seemingly poorly understood by politicians and policy makers.

Why is it important?
If we do not move to renewables but continue on burning fossil fuels for energy generation and transportation, we WILL see huge climate change effects that will seriously affect human life and development. This pivoting to renewables requires a LOT of metals and minerals, which requires a LOT more mining.
