What is it about?

1) Standard processing strategies as applied in reflection seismic data processing for mapping geological structures below 3-500m depth are not applicable for detailed imaging of subsurface structures in the near surface depth range. 2) In hybrid seismic surveying the results of two evaluation methods - although based on the same set of seismic data, and being independent of each other - are used for reciprocal calibration in order to obtain spatial imaging congruency.

Why is it important?

Indispensible and non-invasive direct imaging of geological structures and rock elasticity moduli in the context of geotechnical construction site characterizations.
