What is it about?
The study concentrates on analyzing the heterogeneity of human subcutaneous white adipose tissue. This is achieved through the use of advanced technologies such as single-cell RNA sequencing, single-nucleus RNA sequencing, bulk RNA sequencing, proteomic, lipidomic, and metabolomic analysis. The goal of these studies is to identify new biomarkers that can help in recognizing rare progenitor cell subpopulations and accurately determining their lineage hierarchy and differentiation status. Results significantly contributed to our understanding of the physiology and pathophysiology of adipose tissue. These findings have the potential to support the development of reliable and effective clinical applications that utilize adipose tissue derivatives for regenerative medicine purposes.
