Why is it important?
Relevant data on AC and variables involved are necessary for public health policies towards prevention and support. There are very few English-language studies from multidisciplinary perspective regarding AC in Romania and therefore this study fill a gap in the specialised literature.
Perspectives
This study suggests that some sharp personality traits, namely Demonstrativeness, Hyperthymia, Cyclothymia, Hyperperseverance, and Uncontrollability, predisposing to dysfunctional styles of emotion regulations, are a risk factor for AC. Demonstrativeness often involves negative, destructive, antisocial tendencies, especially in the case of adolescents and young people, and requires increased efforts to be prevented and corrected so that not to become a core personality.
