What is it about?
This study aimed to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Performance Appraisal Motivation Scale in a Turkish sample. Using a methodological and cross-sectional design, data were collected from employees working in various institutions who had experience with performance appraisal practices. The scale was adapted into Turkish through translation and back-translation procedures, followed by expert review. Psychometric testing included analyses of construct validity and internal consistency. The findings showed that the scale had an acceptable factor structure and satisfactory reliability coefficients, indicating that it is a suitable tool for assessing employees’ motivation towards performance appraisal in the Turkish context. This study provides researchers and practitioners with a valid and reliable instrument to better understand how performance appraisal systems influence employee motivation.
