What is it about?
While laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a widely performed surgery among HPB and general surgeons, EARLY laparoscopic cholecystectomy performed in the setting of acute calculous cholecystitis remains to be challenging and technically demanding. Proper assessment of the degree of difficulty of the procedure is crucial especially among young surgeons in the prime of their career or those with potentially limited surgical skills or experience in the field of HPB and laparoscopic surgery to avoid exposing patients to grave catastrophic complications.
