What is it about?
Migraine is a common brain disorder that can cause repeated headaches and other symptoms that interfere with daily life. In this study, we surveyed adults in Egypt to estimate how common migraine is and to identify the health problems and lifestyle factors linked to it. We found that migraine affected about 1 in 5 participants, and many people with migraine also had severe disability, insomnia, anxiety, depression, or stress.

Why is it important?
This study is important because it provides population-based evidence on the burden of migraine in Egypt, where data have been limited. It highlights not only headache frequency but also disability and mental health effects. By showing the impact of migraine on daily function and associated comorbidities, it can help guide awareness, screening, and better care.
Perspectives
I hope this article helps bring more attention to migraine in Egypt, a condition that is often underestimated despite its real impact on daily life and mental health. More than anything, I hope it supports better awareness, earlier recognition, and improved care for people living with migraine.
