What is it about?
This article looks at the individual motivations of mayor in Germany to promote renewable energy projects in their municipality. Instead of focussing on barriers and structural conditions this work investigates the personal drivers behind ambitions renewable energy success cases.

Why is it important?
Our findings can be used to improve ways in which climate change policies are communicated, especially in rural regions which have experienced economic downturn in their past.
Perspectives
Personally, I like looking at local success cases like the ones we describe in the article. I think these cases can teach us a lot about how local transitions can successfully implemented.
