Why is it important?
Understanding the magnitude of ESBL-PE from the African context is important to invent measures towards attributable complicanted and life threatening infections. This group of pathoges have local and international importance due to intercontinental spreads.
Perspectives
This publication addressed a timely research question, and determined the pooled prevalence of ESBL-PE in Africa. This complements the evidences necessary in decision making and in tackling Antimicrobial resistance.
