What is it about?

Our study is the first in Malaysia to investigate the prevalence of LTBI among refugee children in the local setting. We screened 430 refugee children for active TB disease and LTBI, to which none of them had active TB disease, but 55 of them (12.8%) had LTBI. Refugee children would be an important target group to be given preventive therapy for LTBI. Collaborative effort from all authorities is essential in improving LTBI care as well as TB prevention and control in Malaysia.
