What is it about?

Lung diseases of the lung structure are associated with increased burden and can lead to reduced survival. Lung cancer has also an increased disease burden and reduced survival depending on disease type and stage. Both diseases can be observed simultaneously leading to even worse burden and higher mortality. In addition, the treatment itself for both diseases can lead to side effects. This combination is challenging for patients and care taker. More understanding and studies are needed to improve outcome and reduce disease burden for these patients.
