What is it about?
Respiratory deficits are common following curative lung resection and may reduce the patient’s ability to be physically active. We evaluated the influence of surgery on pulmonary function, respiratory muscle strength and physical performance after lung resection within a period of up to six- months post-surgery. We found that pulmonary function and oxygenation following exercise were reduced short and long-term, while walked distance recovered. Respiratory muscle strength was not affected.
