What is it about?

Mechanical ventilation, low oxygenation and elevated scores of disease severity (APACHE) are associated with increased mortality in interstitial lung disease (ILD). Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis has the highest mortality rate among ILDs. Despite improving in-hospital survival, overall and follow-up mortality remain high.
