Why is it important?

The use of chemical products such as sodium hypochlorite on cleaning activity can lead to the development of lung diseases even in health people. So, it is important to study the effects of this irritant in low doses of exposure to understand how the disease is established. We observed that even when acute exposures are made, changes in lung mechanics and the increase of inflammation ocure, and when these exposures are in a chronic way the lung function is worsened, it induce the oxidative stress, mucus production and alveolar destruction, contributing to augment the inflammation.
