What is it about?

This is the prospective study to determine the efficacy and safety of medical pleurodesis using autologous blood compared with Talc in MPE.

Why is it important?

ABP was as effective as Talc in the treatment of MPE. However, ABP had less in pain, fever and no systemic side effects.

Perspectives

The overall success rate of pleurodesis was the same in both the autologous blood group and the Talc group.
