What is it about?
Not all smokers develop Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and we don't understand why. In this manuscript, we found that DNA repair genes are downregulated in severe COPD, particularly the nucleotide excision pathway, and these changes may underlie, in part, the heterogeneity of COPD.
