Characterisation of asthma subgroups associated with circulating YKL-40 levels

What is it about?

This study identified four subgroups of asthma characterized by different serum levels of the protein YKL-40 and clinical characteristics of the disease. Two subgroups with high serum levels of YKL-40 were more severe and had distinguishing features when compared to milder forms of the disease in the other two low YKL-40 subgroups.
