Why is it important?

This study showed the susceptibility of newborns to SARS-CoV-2 infection. This study provided epidemiological evidence supporting vertical transmission of SARS-CoV-2 between mothers and fetus.

Perspectives

Writing this article takes a lot of discussion between me and peer reviewers. This article was submitted before the annoucement of COVID-19 pandemic by WHO. The conclusion would have been that COVID-19 pandemic is highly possible, but the argument is what is the relationship between the several infected newborns with pandemic. Finally, I changed the conclusion without mentioning the possiblity of a pandemic. And WHO already announced Pandemic when the manusript was accepted.
