What is it about?
In this study, a comparison of some performances of cement stabilization of compressed earthen brick and fired bricks is done. Mechanical and heat diffusion was the main parametters that were analysed and It is shown that cement stabilization lead to higher mechnical performance than fired bricks whereas the later shows higher thermal insulation performace. Statisticla anlysis is used to confirmed the findings. The thermal insulation is mainly regulated by the developpement of constinuous surface conduction in cement stabilized materials while for fire materials the insulation behavior is mainly controle by radiation due to trapped air within the pores.

Why is it important?
For improve thermal insulation, fired bricks should be preferred to cement stabilized earthen block
