What is it about?

The aim of this paper is to help managers in public positions make better sense out of the exponential developments currently surfacing in eldercare. There has been so much development that trying to understand, organize, and stay updated with it all becomes nearly impossible. This article will help managers demystify these innovations, making managing innovation in eldercare more simple. A model or typology emerged to help facilitate this management.

Why is it important?

After reading this paper, a manager in eldercare should be able to hear any or all ideas (e.g., developments in newspapers, ideas from collegues or friends, approached by suppliers) and know exactly where it fits in the overall eldercare model/typology (that was developed). This tool will help managers "predetermine" the likely impact that the innovation will have on their overall organizational interests.
