Why is it important?

Comparative analysis of the financial systems of the BRIC countries has not received adequate coverage yet. Adequate knowledge of the financial markets in emerging markets helps to understand better the fragility of the global financial sector.

Perspectives

Our analysis depicts the Russian financial market in its present state as almost certainly not the strongest contender in either the BRIC context or in comparison to the leading financial powerhouses. It shows some impressive quantitative and qualitative gains but at the same time suffers from developmental ‘diseases’ that act as barriers to robust and stable growth.
