What is it about?
A shared, or group, medical appointment focusing on high blood pressure was implemented at the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System. Those enrolled in the SMA had lower blood pressure after enrollment than when they were not enrolled. Pharmacists prescribed medications and provided education to improve blood pressure control.

Why is it important?
This work is important because it demonstrates the ability to improve the quality of healthcare provided while also increasing access to healthcare. Additionally, this project demonstrates pharmacists ability to effectively manage primary care diseases, such as hypertension.
