What is it about?
Our latest research paper for SAAHAS is out! Here we describe how queer affirmative CBT based group therapy can be adapted to e-health and telehealth platforms. We wrote here about the ways in which we used video conferencing on GoogleMeets to sustain group therapy and used WhatsApp for between session therapeutic contact and chat group therapy (harnessing the power of peer support). We also wrote about how Instagram and Facebook can be used for community mental health.

Why is it important?
The internet is a crucial tool for queer individuals, and the Covid 19 pandemic has encouraged us to examine ways to maximize the potential of internet platforms for all our work, including mental healthcare. We outlined our experiences and challenges, previous work in this domain, and offered suggestions for researchers and practitioners who wish to expand their work to online spaces.
Perspectives
Adapting our existing group therapy work to online spaces was a challenge, and we are happy to have been able to use our experiential learning to potentially help other researchers/ practitioners.
