This is a review of online tools that instructors can use when they are assigning virtual team projects or assignments. The references at the end of the article will help instructors learn more about virtual teams and help them to create their own virtual team projects.

Why is it important?
Virtual teams are becoming more common as technology enables people from all over the world to collaborate with one another. It's important for instructors to teach their students how work is done in the virtual domain, where new communication skills need to be developed in order for virtual team members to be effective.
Perspectives
We hope that the resources suggested in this paper will encourage and enable other instructors around the world to assign virtual team projects.
