Why is it important?
Ostomy patients express that providers seem disgusted by the ostomy and say or do things that make the patient feel bad about having to receive an ostomy. Millions of people have to get an ostomy and are largely a stigmatized population.
Perspectives
This article allows ostomy patients’ voices to be heard and helps providers know how to care for ostomy patients.
