What is it about?
we seek to answer the question of the role of social capital in the political development of the Hashemi Rafsanjani and Ahmadinejad governments in Iran. Following in-depth assessments, it is concluded that not only have the Hashemi Rafsanjani and Ahmadinejad governments failed to strengthen social capital in society, but also a decline of social capital in society can be discerned.

Why is it important?
Thus the onset of internal turmoil and various issues in different parts of Iran; the involvement of political and social groups on the major issues; the onset of war; the transformation of the country’s social and political conditions in terms of its irreparable consequences; the loss of a spiritual reference and awareness of the society (Imam Khomeini); and the subsequent adoption of a specific pattern of development after the end of the war all acted to cause a decline in the level of social capital.
Perspectives
I hope that all the governments, in particular the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who are indebted to the brutality and purity of the children of this country, will improve the confidence and coherence and greater integrity of social capital in the country. Today, in Iran, we are faced with a reduction in social capital and a lack of trust in the people, which has led to a lot of damage as a result of political development.
